Local Sports Jun 1, 2023 Mixed 12 crews break from the starting line for their quarter-mile race last June at Hanakao'o Beach Park. The Maui News / MATTHEW THAYER photos As the Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Association regatta season approaches, veteran crews are making final adjustments while keiki paddlers are practicing their new skills. The season kicks off Saturday morning with the John Wilmington III Memorial Regatta at Kahului Harbor with Na Kai Ewalu Canoe Club as the host.
